In 2015, Camp Liberty, an veteran's organization based in Brooklyn, MI, commissioned Dozer Cycle Studio to build a bike for fundraising. Dozer's chose a bobber style for its manageability and sturdiness, and was inspired by medieval suits of armor. The name Crusader seemed a natural choice. While the name has its medieval associations, the term crusader has evolved. Synonymous with "campaigner, fighter, advocate, and reformer," a crusader is also defined as a person who campaigns vigorously for a cause or change. When it comes to vets suffering from PTSD and traumatic brain injury, the folks at Camp Liberty are crusaders. These vets helping vets use nature and activities in a natural setting as the ice breaker to begin conversations that eventually lead suffering vets to treatment and help. Dozer Cycle Studio was proud that Crusader was featured in Easyriders Magazine, October 2016, bringing national attention to Camp Liberty.
